Challenge: design an application that brings the population closer to the availability of medicines in the pharmacies closest to their location.
Solution: DNM APP is an application that allows users to search and consult the availability of medicines in the pharmacies closest to their community.
The mobile application of the Dirección Nacional de Medicamentos de El Salvador, called “APP DNM” arises from the need to bring the population and other interest groups closer to the work of the National Directorate of Medicines in compliance with the Medicines Law, whose main purpose is to safeguard the population with accessible, effective, safe and quality medicines.
The APP DNM is an application for communication and consultation of information with the Medicines Regulatory Authority of El Salvador, the Salvadoran population, medical establishments and the Pharmaceutical Industry. This application allows agile information management for timely decision making.
It allows the consultant to carry out a comprehensive search for the drugs of interest, in order to make an intelligent purchase at the best price and at the closest establishment.

It allows complaints to be made with geolocation and space to include photographs as instant evidence of suspected counterfeiting, misleading advertising or unauthorized drug prices; All of this contributes to the identification of irregularities and allows the DNM, as the Medicines Regulatory Authority, to act immediately.
The population in general will be able to consult for any medication of interest, if it has health alerts and see the follow-up of the case.
Users in El Salvador who are within the urban area have approximately 3 pharmacies around them, but in the rural area access to them has always been very difficult. By using portable technology, the DNM APP could bring access to information on the availability of medicines in the pharmacies closest to it and thus make the search and availability of medicines more comfortable.
